Spend a wonderfully creative Saturday exploring two very different types of ink with mixed-media artist Michelle Grant.
This hands-on day package is designed to take the mystery out of powdered and drawing inks. You’ll discover how each ink behaves, which surfaces and tools work best, and how to transform experimental marks into finished artwork.

10am–1pm
Vibrantly Inked – Powdered Inks
Discover the vibrant and sometimes surprising world of powdered inks. Explore colour movement, water control, shimmer, texture and Powder Fix before transforming your experimental backgrounds with bold black silhouettes and finishing details.
2pm–5pm
Beautifully Inked – Drawing Inks
Explore bottled drawing inks using traditional dip nibs, a glass pen, flowing washes and expressive linework. Combine colour, pattern and decorative details to create an imaginative mixed-media portrait.

IN EACH CLASS YOU WILL:
• Explore the unique properties of a different type of ink
• Create four A6 technique samples for your reference collection
• Learn techniques you can continue using at home
• Begin a larger A4 artwork if time permits
• Receive a class kit containing products and materials to take home

No previous ink or art experience is required. Both workshops include demonstrations, printed references and individual guidance throughout.

Places are limited to 20 participants in each class.
Food and drinks are not included; however, a coffee shop is conveniently located nearby and will be open throughout the workshop weekend. There is a one-hour break between the morning and afternoon classes.
A detailed class-information file and bring list will be emailed after booking. Please ensure the email address entered at checkout is correct.
Please wear an apron or clothing that can safely become ink-stained.
